Growing herbs is one of the easiest things to do. They are pretty tough plants and don't take alot of care. Not only are they easy to grow and you can add flavor to your cooking, but you can decorate with them, not to mention they smell so pleasant.
Putting herbs in a small vase, Mason jar, juice glass, creamers, etc... (use your imagination) with a little water and they make for a nice centerpiece no matter what the occasion. The one pictured above (mint and rosemary) has been on my table for a week and they are still fresh looking!
Here is a big flower pot on our porch. Even if the flowers die off this summer in the Alabama heat and lack of watering, this thyme will still look good flowing out of the pot.
My daughter Olivia has authored an easy to understand e-book to get your started with growing and using culinary herbs, which you can also decorate frugally with!

My sister and I grew herbs in small pots for table centerpieces at my wedding. Afterwards we gave them away as thank-yous to those who had helped. It worked beautifully!
