Hi, Kathy! Thanks for the giveaway - I've always wanted to learn how to crochet. I hope I win!

One of the hardest things for me about learning handiwork is just taking the time to do it. Since I work outside the home, my time at home is very limited - although I suppose I could do some handiwork on my lunch hour - hmmmm.

Thank you, too, for the Eager Hands mini-course. I am enjoying it.

Hi,

I would LOVE to learn to crochet! I came over here from Families Against Feminism. mjkmatlock@yahoo.com

My biggest challenge is that the material "ripples" when I try. :-(

Thanks for the offer!

I would love to be considered for the crocheting DVD! It is something I have always wanted to learn but don't have anybody to teach me how! I guess for me, the most challenging part of handiwork is the fact that so few people know how to and it is hard for a young woman to learn! I taught myself how to cross stitch by just doing it but have been unsuccessful with crochet!

My e-mail is rboreing@gmail.com

Thanks!

I have a difficult time learning handwork from a book. I can do a basic chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, but that is it :). I can do basic knitting too.

Count me in....I do know how to crochet, I was taught as a young girl by my mother & grandmother - yet some of my technique is a bit iffy (just trying to remember it all from when I was young).

This may be a great help to me as I pass these skills on to my own beautiful girls.

Thanks~

I, too, would love to learn to crochet. I've tried to teach myself with a book, but I'm a very visual learner, so I think the DVD would work better!
My biggest challenge is probably trying to get the stitches and hand movement coordinated.
Thanks! I will post a link to this on my blog, as well.

I would love to win the DVD! I can crochet a little and I am attempting to teach my two daughters what little I know. My biggest challenge is that I have a hard time following written directions. The pictures displayed in these instructions books just don't do it for me. When I use these it takes me forever to learn the most simple of things!!!

Hello there. Been sometime since I have hopped over to your spot on the web. I had you bookmarked on our computer that pooped out between Washington and Texas and haven't visited since.. :0(

Too bad for me! I enjoy stopping by 'your place'.

Sign me up for the drawing. My grandmother would teach me to crochet if she were still alive. Our home is filled with her handiwork and it blesses my heart greatly! My biggest challenge with handiwork is simply the time for doing it. The children are still young...6, 3 and 1.

I can do a basic chain, but my issue with learning crochet is that I am not very good at just READING and doing. I need to have someone SHOW me. So my biggest obstacle in learning any handicraft has been a lack of people to show me. I am not very good at understanding abbreviations and patterns unless I thoroughly know the stitch, and it makes me sad because I know I could knit and crochet and make many wonderful things if someone would just do a visual demonstration for me...I'm a hands-on learner. :)

Please put my name in the hat :D I came here from Families Against Feminism.

Hi,

Thank you so much for offering this DVD. My daughter and I would love to learn how to crochet. Anna is 11.

My biggest challenge with any handiwork is that I don't have as much time in this season of my life to accomplish a project. Although with Anna motivating me now, we can make it a mother/daughter time too!

Thank you again from both of us!

This sounds great. I have been thinking about how to learn things like sewing, knitting...all things my mom knew but didn't pass on.

I love to crochet and 2 of my daughters crochet as well. My almost 13 year old is just starting out and I think she would be greatly encouraged by this dvd. Thanks for pointing people back to the old paths, especially handwork! Blessings! ~Sue G.~ Pittsburgh, Pa.

The hardest thing for me about learning to crochet would be I need to see it not just read it. I am a visual learner.

Hi,

I'd love to learn to crochet. I'm a pretty good knitter, which makes it really tough to switch!

Biggest challenge? Patience. I know that it's worth it in the end, but I'm just so impatient for things to be finished!

Hi Kathy,

I've heard a lot about you from friends and church members! Good things! :)

I've tried my hands at crocheting - simply because my greatgrandmother made all of us g.grandkids baby blankets and booties for our firstborns to come home in.

I made a couple things, but they always ended up lopsided and pulled in at the edges.

I'd LOVE to pick this up again, as a legacy to continue passing down to my daughter.

i would love to have this DVD. i read your interview over at LAF the other day and it was so inspiring! My daughter and i are part of a keepers at home group and we learned the chain stitch. now we are ready for what we do next! i find that the hardest part about handiwork for me is not having learned it as a child. that is one of the things we are making sure our girls know growing up so that they are prepared for all aspects of homekeeping. i also need to make better use of my time. thank you so much! Blessings, jen in al kcjenkey@charter.net

The hardest part of learning handiwork is sitting patiently and watching as you make mistakes and re-doing that area. For that reason I think the exercise in patience is a good practice. Many of these skills are lost arts among todays young women. I'm hoping to teach my little women, as well as learn myself! My e-mail is onehoppinmom at yahoo dot com
Thanks! Beth

Oh I would love this for my daughters and me. We are trying desperately to reclaim some of the lost arts. Crochet is one we have not tried yet!

I'm new here! I would love to learn how to crochet, knit, cross-stitch, and the list goes on and on. These skills were not skills that my mother or grandmother had, but I would like to learn and pass them on to my children and maybe even other ladies. My first challenge is that I'm a hands-on learner. I can't read directions and do something - I have to have someone sitting at my side showing me and allowing me to do it. The next challenge is that my 7 year old daughter wants to know how to do all of these things too and I would love to be able to teach her!

Thanks!

I have 6 children, two with severe autism, & two are baby twins, so time is my biggest challenge LOL.

I wish I knew how to crochet, knit, sew, etc. I would love to be able to pass that along to my daughters now.

I struggle with learning from books; I need to see to learn to do.

Thanks!
Michele

Lovely! I have tried to learn to crochet several times, with books, but I have just gotten very stifled by it. I would LOVE to see an actual person showing me how and explaining all the how-to's!
What a lovely give-away idea! Thank you so much for the offering. Fantastic Titus 2 teacher. ;)

Hi there Kathy! I adore your website; and am trying to figure out my homeschool year this week (early...before it sneaks up on me!)

I really want to incorporate busy hands in the learning of our daughter. Yet, although I can simple crochet...I struggle with teaching; and even following the directions. It all gets jumbled.

My blog is "down" for a few months as I enjoy my family *so only one entry for me!* smile* Thank you so much for all you do!!
