Remembering the Resurrection

Today is Good Friday.

Love and forgiveness (or the lack of there of) have been a constant issue in our home lately. Personally, I have been a bit somber today thinking about the cross.

I think it is very important to remember the cross and why it is that Jesus was willing to lay His life down for us. When we remember the price of our own sins, then God can begin to give us the grace that we need to forgive others. When we find the sins of others bigger than our own, or their offenses towards us unforgivable, then we do not understood just what Christ did for US!

It is good to remember Jesus' obedience to His Father, even when He felt forsaken, even in the face of torment and death. Should we not obey and forgive?

It is good to remember the cross, the suffering, the rejection, the weight of OUR SIN! It is a serious thing.

It is even better to remember the Resurrection, for without that there would be no hope for one so sinful as me!
